ELEGANCIA mujer

“ME FASCINA INNOVAR Y DISEÑAR”

“Mi familia me inspira”

“I AM FASCINATED BY INNOVATING AND DESIGNING”

“My family inspires me”

Did you have any family influence for your formation?

I have to mention my grandmother Briselba and my mother Sheila Santos as two people who have been decisive in my life. From them, I have learned to set goals in life and achieve them. I have both big and small examples of their teachings that are very useful in my family and professional life today. I feel that I inherited their entrepreneurial spirit. They taught me, among many other things, the design and fine manufacturing of jewelry, which I still dedicate myself to. But I am also a woman who always tries to move forward; I learned this from my father Humberto Argüello.

How did your interest in technology begin?

As my family grew and my siblings continued their higher education, I began to have an emotional and intellectual curiosity to pursue higher studies. Through Stanford University, I enrolled and joined an innovative program offered by Apple for mobile application development on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. That’s how everything started, and today it’s something that I not only master but am passionate about. Currently, I have been developing applications for Apple for four years, starting with educational games for learning Spanish and English for children. To this day, I have around 18 applications available on the AppStore, including the new one, my favorite, Revista ELEGANCIAS, which is the first magazine in Nicaragua to have a presence in this global App Store market. I am fascinated watching how countries download this application. I consider this a new beginning with many opportunities not only for me but also for my children and the new generation.

Do you consider yourself an innovative and entrepreneurial woman?

I am fascinated by innovating, designing, and education, as I believe that keeping the mind and spirit renewed and active helps me to continue growing and evolving. I consider that human beings, like technology and trends in fashion and design, are always evolving and changing. That’s why it’s necessary to keep up with the new trends and innovations. My goal right now is to learn to take new applications, which I consider to be tools with global impact, to a level that really makes a positive difference in people’s lives through education, whether in the health sector, children’s sector, or in general, in the development of Nicaraguan humanity, through NGO programs to achieve a positive impact on people’s lives.

Do you feel fulfilled?

As a woman, I am proud to be a programmer, and I feel even better knowing that out of every forty computer programmers, only one is a woman. I wish to inspire with my example so that more women join this world of technology.
